Who is Victor?

Victor is a young computer engineer passionate by mountains and entrepreneurship. He came to Grenoble to study and fell in love with entrepreneurship. After graduating he got a job in a software development company which he particularly likes because he is developing software for early stage startups. His company has notably been working for Hexo+ which raised $1,306,920 on Kickstarter last July. Thus he works closely with the entrepreneurship community of Grenoble and is also currently working on his own project about cloud computing.

Victor speaks about his experience in Grenoble

Grenoble, July, Le Planétalis [BAR], 01:00 p.m.

"To innovate is enlisting the right persons"

This sentence comes from his innovation sociology teacher and it particularly touches Victor. Indeed, he values more the team of a project that the idea. He thinks that it is really important to find the right persons, the right ambassadors for your project. He gives us the example of Hexo+, which is supported by worldwide snowboarders, riders, skiers…

"Entrepreneurs want to show that we can innovate in Grenoble"

Victor thinks that in some places like Grenoble, there is more of “right persons” for entrepreneurship projects. It is easier to develop your network in Grenoble than in Paris particularly because there is less events and places to go and so to meet. It is then easier for people to know where to go and there is little hierarchy in the community.

"Innovation and mountains, not so different"

Victor, and many of our others contacts, love Grenoble for its quality of life and the proximity of nature and mountains. For Victor, people who like mountain and hiking also like entrepreneurship. When you are hiking there is a leader, you have to analyze where you go, how you go, you evaluate risks and take actions… elements that you will obsviously find in entrepreneurship! Grenoble is also connected to the ski technologies and technical textiles, which are moving really fast explaining why people are so aware with new technologies.

"Is there only one ecosystem?"

We finished our lunch by thinking about the innovative ecosystem in Grenoble. Victor told us that Grenoble was very connected to other places all around the world. Entrepreneurs have to think big and global. He raised the point that maybe there is only one worldwide ecosystem with many spots or dots connected to each other.
